Anniversary Gala Article

Full Coverage: http://www.peta25.com/gala-celebrations.asp

PETA's 25th Anniversary Gala and Humanitarian Awards Show was a tremendous success that saw caring individuals from around the globe gather on a beautiful Hollywood night to celebrate PETA's 25 years of groundbreaking work for animals. More than 2,000 PETA supporters filled Paramount Studios' "New York Street" back lot for the celebration that featured top-notch entertainment and the country's best vegan cuisine.

Hosted by comedian Fred Willard and longtime PETA pal Pamela Anderson, the gala paid tribute to outstanding activists and celebrities who have worked hard to promote the rights of animals through PETA campaigns. PETA Humanitarian Awards were presented to Casey Affleck (his award was accepted by Joaquin Phoenix), Marc Bouwer, Lauren Shuler Donner and Richard Donner, John Feldmann, Heather Mills McCartney, Moby, Martina Navratilova, Ravi Shankar, P!nk, and Persia White. Special honorees Alec Baldwin and Morrissey received the Linda McCartney Memorial Award, which was established in 1999 in honor of Linda McCartney, who was a longtime animal rights activist and supporter of PETA. Additionally, the Nanci Alexander Activist Award was presented to Nathan Runkle, the Matthew Eyton Activist Award was presented to Dr. Steven Gross, and PETA Activist Awards were presented to graphic designers Hilly Beavan and Anthony Lawrence, who have shaped the look of PETA's iconic ad campaigns for more than two decades, and attorney Philip J. Hirschkop, who has led PETA to victory in many of its groundbreaking court cases on behalf of animals.

Also in attendance were PETA friends Jamie Lee Curtis, Roselyn Sanchez, Sean Astin, Alyssa Milano, Swoosie Kurtz, Jillian Barbarie, and Esai Morales.
In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, items from Pamela Anderson, John McEnroe, Stella McCartney, and others were sold in a silent auction to benefit PETA's Animal Emergency Fund, which supports PETA's aggressive work with local media outlets to advise residents not to abandon their animals during natural disasters and to provide them with vital information to keep their companion animals safe during storms. Among the items auctioned off for the Fund were a walk-on part on Anderson's TV show, Stacked, autographed tennis rackets from McEnroe and Martina Navratilova, and cruelty-free items from McCartney's fashion collection.

Before the show, guests kicked up their heels to the Hollywood jazz band The Pat Longo Orchestra, which entertained with classic swing tunes. Meanwhile, The Mutaytor, a "part hip-grinding techno/retro-funk, part audience-interactive post-modern circus" thrilled the crowd with street parades and fire-spinners.

During the show, guests were treated to a special performance by the band Polyphonic Spree, which got the party moving with its hit "Light & Day."
We'd especially like to thank the sponsors of PETA's 25th Anniversary Gala and the gala's food and beverage donors for making this a truly once-in-a-lifetime event.

Manthing, FHM's 100 Sexiest Women in the World!

Supanova Expo is proud to present, Imogen Bailey!!!

The beautiful and talented Imogen Bailey has become a household name in Australia. In the last few years she has been billed by the media as "Australia¹s Sexiest Model", and it¹s not only the Australian media that has taken a liking to Imogen. With an ever-growing profile in the international market place, she was recently touted by the British and German media as the "the next Kylie Minogue".

Imogen's profile began to build when she released the first of three self published calendars in 2000. With the success of her calendars and a swag of fans Imogen went on to be crowned "Australia¹s Sexiest model" by leading Australian Men¹s publication "Ralph Magazine". This label was re-confirmed this month when Imogen was voted in the top ten of FHM Magazine¹s 100 Sexiest Women in the World. Imogen has maintained a top ten position for the last three years here in Australia and has made the list in at least ten other countries. Her latest photo shoot is currently being featured on the cover of FHM in 28 countries worldwide!!! Standing at a tiny 5ft 3 inches she had successfully broken the mould of the 5ft 11 inches industry standard model.

From "Celebrity Big Brother" for Charity, to her smash hit "If You Want Me", all of this was nothing but preparation for what Supanova fans find most interesting, Imogen's acting debut, as southern girl "Sarah" in the Marvel comics film "Manthing", which was directed by Hollywood film director Brett Leonard ("Virtuosity", "Lawnmower Man", "Hideaway" and "T.Rex").

Brett Leonard saw great talent in Imogen when he first met her on the set of a music clip for Russell Crowe's 30 Odd Foot of Grunt with "Memorial Day". His strong beliefs saw him volunteer to direct Imogen¹s music clip for "If You Want Me". He then put Imogen through the casting process for "Manthing". She won the role of Sarah with flying colours and has since been approached with many scripts for upcoming film projects. "Manthing" also features a sassy rock chic version of "Tainted Love" performed by Imogen.

As Imogen continues to hit magazine covers, television screens and her publicity profile reaching front pages and features as far as Germany, France, Scotland, the UK, India, America and Asia, her personal website - www.imogenbailey.com - continues to attract 6 million hits a year.

As far as we here at Supanova are concerned we already know she's a hit with us and we look forward to seeing her here to meet as many of her fans as possible.

* Guests appear commitments pending.

Black + White Competition

We have been running a competition on Aussie Celebs for a few weeks, where we asked readers to tell us their favorite Imogen Bailey shoot and describe why in 50 words or less. Now we're opening this contest up to all ImogenBailey.com visitors!

Imogen will pick a winner in the 1st of every month to win an autographed copy of the latest magazine she is appearing on, so post your entries by commenting on this post below.

Here's some of the entries so far ...

Xzibit - This (1st Black + White shoot) is my favorite shoot because I can see her boobies!

KaOS_doJO - My favourite Imogen shoot would have to be the one she did for platinum magazine. That shoot was just damned electric. Ya know, like the feeling you get when you play golf during a lightning storm? Or when you grab 40,000 watt power cables with your bare hands? Like that.

UpOver - My favorite shoot is always the current one and my second favorite is always the next one

Matty - My favorite shoot would have to be the last Black + White one. That double page spread with just a flower to cover her modesty was the single best pic I have ever seen of any woman. I look at it from time to time to remember when Immy kissed me on the cheek.

Post your entries now to win your very own autographed Black & White magazine!
